Hi, ho we’re off to the original Cambridge across the pond with a recent story in Impact, the UK Music Publishers Association trade magazine. Juliana Koranteng spoke with Erich and Michael for background on music recommendation technology at-large. Check it here.
Here’s a quote from Deirdre over at our customer eMusic explaining why MediaUnbound recommendations are so important:
Deirdre Stone, US-based head of product development for digital download platform eMusic, says recommendation systems have contributed to the retailer’s status as the second biggest online-music store after iTunes. “We don’t have content from the major labels,” she says. “If our end-users come looking for Bruce Springsteen or U2, we won’t have them, but we are able to suggest similar repertoire.”
More importantly, Impact has finally provided us with the perfect tagline, MediaUnbound develops “bespoke facilities for digital-content services.” It practically rolls off the tongue.
Though, going forward, I think we will apply the “bespoke” adjective only for our custom-tailored MediaUnbound Repair Monkey suits:
